Ruth is a postgraduate researcher completing an MRes in artificial intelligence at the University of Greater Manchester. Her research explores privacy-preserving federated learning for endometriosis diagnosis using laparoscopic imaging.
She holds a B.Tech and M.Tech from the Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria, alongside prior professional experience in banking operations. Ruth’s technical work focuses on building AI systems that protect patient privacy while remaining transparent and interpretable, applied to underdiagnosed and equity-relevant health conditions.
Ruth possesses a strong analytical foundation and a deep interest in responsible, transparent AI for healthcare, particularly at the intersection of data sovereignty, health equity, and machine learning. Through this internship, she looks forward to contributing to data-driven health research that centres privacy, fairness, and real-world impact.
